Everybody loves match-3 puzzle games lately, and that’s understandable. These games are easy-to-install, easy-to-understand, easy-to-play, and why not, easy-to-master. The ubiquitous Candy Crush Saga is the current main exponent for this type of games, made popular especially because of Facebook’s growth in popularity, but people seem to forget that before Candy Crush Saga, there was Bejeweled, the first tile-matching puzzle game of this kind to achieve fame and worldwide appreciation.
Bejeweled has currently reached its 3rd edition, and it looks better than ever before. It now provides 8 interesting game modes meant to suit any gameplay preference you might have: Classic, Quest, Lightning, Zen, etc. The visuals are brighter, flashier, and more appealing than ever too. Though it’s a rather simple gem matching game, no one can deny it looks truly eye-catching. The sounds are also well suited. The system requirements are indeed more demanding than the ones needed by other tile-matching puzzle games, but they’re not exaggerated or worthy of causing any true worry.
Regarding the gameplay, Bejeweled 3 sticks to the winning formula: you match gems according to their colors and they disappear, helping you progress. It’s not as simple as it sounds, as many upgrades, bonuses and different levels are also involved. The sure thing is that you won’t get easily bored playing this incredibly addictive game. Cutting long story short, Bejeweled 3 is still the great game that entertained so many players over the years.
